A crazy cat lady post

It is time to out myself as the complete crazy cat lady that I am.

Today is the birthday of my two best pals - Marlon and Gene - my felines.  Marlon is 2 years old today and Gene, whose birthday is uncertain but was probably born around April time, is 1.

We celebrated with salmon steak and just a tiny dribble of milk.

So, in honour of Gene leaving his kittenhood behind and entering the years of his cathood here are some pics of my favourite fellas.

Marlon the Magnificent hindering my knitting progress - I rescued him from a breeder who was rehoming him as he isn't "breed quality" - I like his stripey tail and overbite personally.

(Whatever happened to) Baby Gene, arriving at my flat at the age of 10 weeks.  I rescued him from the Celia Hammond cats home.  I went into the kitten pen and he just climbed straight onto my shoulder.

Happy birthday fellas.

  3. Yaaaaay kitties. I also have toilet loving cats. They like drinking out of that more than they like drinking out of their water dish. Gross little freaks ;)

  4. It's taken until 9pm for me to laugh out loud today! Gene on the loo is wonderful! I've always had to have a cat or two, dogs may have owners, but cats will always have servants & that's fine by me. Thanks for making me smile.

They're both very beautiful cats and lovely that they're both rescued as well. I hope they enjoyed their salmon (I'm guessing they did!).

  22. I got my cat Benjie in a similar way to your Gene. I was standing talking with my arms folded and she climed up my leg and into the crock of my arm, where she nestled down and went to sleep. Well I wasn't going to go home without her after that!

    Happy birthday to your boys.

  23. Happy Birthday boys! It makes me SO angry that beautiful animals like these need rehoming. What is wrong with people? However, I am glad you have them in your life.

  24. Great photos! Happy Birthday to them.

My husband told me this morning that we need to make sure we leave the toilet seat down as one of our kittens was caught drinking from the loo. Errrm, actually, I DO leave it down...!
